Summer HVAC Tune-Up and Cooling System Check in Las Vegas

As part of our seasonal service for Job #82648924, the Bob’s Repair team performed a full summer tune-up for a homeowner in Las Vegas. The system was found to be operating under manufacturer specifications, with strong cooling output and no immediate mechanical or electrical concerns.

We also provided a recommendation to improve attic insulation for long-term energy savings.

What We Found

Our certified technician inspected the outdoor condenser, air handler, ductwork, and insulation. The condenser coils were cleaned, filters were replaced, electrical connections were verified, and the drain line was checked for clogs or buildup.

The attic was found to have only a radiant barrier (roof barrier) but lacked standard blown-in insulation, which allows excessive heat to enter the home despite a functioning HVAC system.

How We Fixed It

We completed our full 20-point Multi-Point Inspection, which includes checking superheat/subcooling values, motor amps, thermostat calibration, and blower performance. The outdoor unit was tested and confirmed to be fully operational with all components functioning correctly.

All checks, including refrigerant pressure, wiring integrity, and airflow, were within acceptable ranges. After completing all tests, we reset the thermostat to its original cooling settings.

🚀 The Result

The cooling system is running efficiently and producing adequate cold air to meet the home’s demands. No repair was needed during this visit. However, we advised the homeowner that without standard insulation in the attic, heat gain will remain high and could cause the system to work harder to maintain indoor temperatures.

We recommended blowing in insulation to create a thermal barrier that keeps conditioned air inside longer and reduces energy costs.
